This site is Bruce Rick's only personal site (that's me). Anyway, my goal is to discuss anything that I feel like and hopefully help people out with some things down the road.
Work
I've been working as a web developer since the mid-90's, back when Mosaic was basically the only real browser. I've programmed in just about every language that exists and did exist, worked with many different programs and web packages, and most database systems out there. Basically, if I don't know it, I can figure it out. All languages are about the same, and any decent program is similar to others because they try to design according to general users intuition. If you ever need anything designed, don't feel scared to asked, I may be able to help you a bit ![]()
Politics
I'd like to start by saying I'm a Republican. I grew up as a Democrat, and realized over time, as did my father, that most of our beliefs seemed to fall more towards the Republican party. I was still voting Democratic when Bush and Kerry were running for presidency but soon after that election I started to realized that I was just voting Democratic because that was the way I grew up. As I started studying things, especially tax reforms, immigration issues, welfare and many other areas, I realized my beliefs were much more to the right side than to the left.
Religion
Born a Lutheran, I went to school most of my childhood in a Lutheran school. Once I was out of the house and moved on to College, I fell away from church all together. I was removed from the Lutheran church for not sending money and I was angry for that (that was actually during the time when my family was sending me to a Lutheran High School and were paying to the church as well). After I got married, my wife wanted to go to church so we bounced in and out of many different churches, never feeling like we were at home.
Finally we came to Fowlerville First United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom
This church feels like home and we are now very proud Methodists. I have found through the years your denomination doesn't really matter as much as the fact that you believe in Jesus and you try the best you can to follow God's word.

I ‘TOTALLY’ agree with you, Bruce.
We are non-denominational, but we know there are no denominations, marriages etc., in heaven.
All, are God’s Children … as it should be.
I just want to commend you on the great blog you have created here, Bruce.
You truly ARE, good at your job.
All your hard work over the years, has payed off for you.
With this everchanging world we exist in, one never gets too old to learn.
I appreciate the fact, your blog is very knowlegable and informative. It is also easy to understand.
So many blogs these days, are ‘uppity’, so to speak, making it not so easy to understand.
They make it hard, for the layman (such as myself), to grasp..
I have found many answers here, and I will continue to enjoy your blog, through feed.
One more thing before I exit, your blog is not only ‘user friendly’, it is very relaxed and friendly.
I have enjoyed reading you.
Thank you for sharing your expertise and warmth.
