General WordPress Search Engine Optimization

The first thing you need to do when you get WordPress installed is get your general Search Engine Optimization setup proper.  Login to your admin section and then make the following changes:

  1. Select Settings and then Parmalinks.
  2. Set Permalinks to Custom and change it to something like "/%postname%/" and then select save.
  3. Go to plugins and add a new plugin (Headspace 2).
  4. Make adjustments to the settings as you would like. I like to use %%title%% as the title. You may also have to check the title section of your template to remove characters before or after your title.
