Introduction To My Political Views
Before reading further I should probably give you some information on myself. I am a Republican although I was a Democrat, actually up until Bush won his second election (I know, a strange to to change). What I had realized during that time is that my actually belief's were more toward the Republican party then the Democrats. Here are a few things I realized:
1. I'm a Christian, that will not ever change. Not that Democrats are not Christian's, it just seems that the party is trying to do away with it in politics. I'm sorry but our country was built on Christian belief's and I don't think they should just go away.
2. Illegal immigration is a major problem in the United States. I believe that we need to defend our borders and deal with the issue we have here. I do not have a way to solve it but with a little thinking I'm sure we can figure things out. There needs to be a way to stop people from coming into our country illegally. I am all for people that are here legally or those here working on Visa's but the number of illegals that are here are way too high and it's not really slowing down any. We are already short on work, why are we letting our jobs get eaten up, onto of all of the drugs coming across our borders.
3. I believe in working for what you get and welfare is not in that system. Yes, there is a place for welfare and it is a necessity to help out the few people that really need it, but there are more people that just take advantage of it and never work. I have known a few people personally that decided that didn't want to work any more and just started living off welfare. True, they aren't millionaires, but they don't have to get up every day and work or do anything. They have free healthcare, low housing costs, free food, etc. We are making a lazy country. I believe that there should be a limit on how long you can stay on welfare, no one should be able to stay on it for life. That is what other systems are for, such as social security, which you paid into.
4. There's my next problem, social security. This system is fucked up, there's no other way to put it. I know people that have been able to get on it and life off it and they really didn't need it. On the other hand, my wife for instance, has been told she can no longer work due to her sickness and said she probably wouldn't get coverage because she's too young (38) even though she paid in. Did you know you could come here from another country and get social security without paying in but my wife has to fight for it, and then even if she get's it the most she will get is $400/month because they say I make too much (I'm a low level middle income person).
5. Democrats believe in big governement, something I strongly appose. This causes the big brother effect and there is a group that controls everything that goes on, ontop of this being very expensive.
There are many more issues that drive me nuts but this is the beginning and now you know a little more about who I am. Bring you comments, I'm very stubborn but I'm willing to listen.
